If it hadn’t been for this damned virus, I’d be sending this picture from our hotel at Disneyland. We were scheduled to fly there today, spend a few days at the park, then go to a family reunion in Santa Barbara. *sigh*
So instead, I’m drinking this wonderful local pilsner from a glass I got on a trip to Chicago in 2017. Oh well, at least the beer is good.

That’s a great idea to go on a holiday from home.. just drink and eat the same food and drink as you would have.

Corona hospitalizations are spiking again in TX (and elsewhere) . We’re not going to any restaurants any time soon.

Enjoying a cold one after a long day of yard work and catching up on today’s Oppo . Looking forward to some grilling with the bride while watching the sun go down and then settling into whatever we end up watching this evening. Boring... just the way we like it.
If not for C orona we would be at a wedding tonight and I would be wearing a tux. The couple is still getting married and we are still getting them a gift but now I get to wear a t- shirt. Everyone wins!

Scratch that. As soon as I posted I realized that I forgot to defrost our fridge/freezer in the kitchen and move everything to coolers and the deep freezer in the barn. I hope it’s just s omething blocking the drain. Womp womp.
Now... to resume original plan.

I finally cleaned out the drain in our garage refrigerator after it being clogged literally for years. I used a hair dryer.

Just ordered Chinese and I’m about to make a G&T.
We took a day trip down to Granville island yesterday. It’s kinda like the tourist area of old town San Diego or pikes place market in Seattle. We needed to have a fuckit Friday as the gravity of no holiday travel is starting to weigh on us more. Usually you have to circle 4 times to get a parking spot and it’s jammed with people. It was weird to see it such a ghost town with just the locals. Picked up some great craft gin from a local distillery, who’s owner is connected with my brothers wine business. Anywho, it was nice to spend the day out and about.

I tried that method a couple of weeks ago when the deli drawer in the fridge was frozen shut but it started freezing right back up. Giving it a good 12 plus hours to air out and melt t his go around. If it doesn’t work I’m calling the warranty while it still has it.
Side rant: this is the first non-rental unit grade fridge that I have had. We bought a whole kitchen appliance package (Samsung) from Best Buy when we moved in. Not impressed so far. The range display turned into a light show last month. Still works but come on this stuff is less than four years old.

It’s one of the more famous restaurants in Chicago, a real landmark . It has liquor license No. 1 in Chicago following Prohibition, and they had a men only bar until 1969. I had German sausage and sauerkraut that was really quite good.

Worked today didn't sell a car but strong new contacts and a promising second visit from another. Local IPA on the porch with some welcome rain. Music buddies tomorrow to make some noise in my garage

Ate there once many years ago (c. 2000). I remember liking it.
Working on the SAAB today. Almost finished replacing front lower control arms which gets you new ball joints and all new bushings.

Love the high desert southwest. 300 days of sunshine. 90 degree days, 60 degree nights. Dry heat. A little rain is nice, as I keep what little lawn I have on life support until "monsoon season" greens it up well late summer. Best to you and hope it rains there

Haha, well we do practical shooting rather than mil-sim, so no shooting people involved.
